
Ken is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Weller Equity Partners, a Louisville, KY-based private equity firm focusing on control and minority equity investments in lower middle-market companies based in the Mid-South region of the US. Prior to establishing Weller in 2015, Ken was Director of the Louisville Office of CapitalSouth Partners. Ken established the Midwest presence for CapitalSouth in 2007 and worked with the firm’s principal funds, Capitala Finance Corp, a public BDC, and the CapitalSouth Growth Fund, a private SBIC, serving a national market with more than $1 billion in total assets under management.
Ken
sourced numerous transaction opportunities for CapitalSouth and is
responsible for 9 transactions covering a range of industries
including manufacturing, information technology, restaurants,
healthcare, education and pharmaceuticals. In addition, Ken
co-founded the ACG Kentucky chapter of the international Association
for Corporate Growth in 2008 and organized the bi-annual, MidSouth
ACG Capital Connection private equity conference in Louisville in
2013. Prior to CapitalSouth, Ken was president of an accounting
services firm and CFO of two Inc.
50 companies. Ken began his career in middle-market commercial
banking and Fortune
500 M&A.
Ken
is a graduate of Syracuse University with a B.S. degree in Business
Management and is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Society
of Louisville. Ken currently serves on the board of ACG Kentucky and
served on the global board of the Association for Corporate Growth
from 2011 – 2014, and was chair of its national conference,
InterGrowth, in 2014.
